  • Childrens Law Center of California

    CLC is the largest children's legal services organization in the nation, advocating for over 25,000 children and youth in the Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Placer County foster care systems. We advocate for our clients by supporting families; fighting for reunification, permanence, educational opportunity, health, and mental health wellness; and empowering and strengthening children, families, and their communities.

  • Foster Youth Bill of Rights

    The mission of the California Office of the Foster Care Ombudsperson (OFCO) is to advocate on behalf of foster children and youth regarding their care, placement, and services. The OFCO is an autonomous entity that is empowered to investigate and informally resolve complaints impacting foster youth, increase awareness about foster youth rights, and make recommendations to help support systemic change.

  • Kid2Kid Computers

    We at Kid2Kid Computers help kids in need by giving them free computers. With our computers, kids can access essential tools, like homework aids or government resources. With your donation of old or outdated computer parts, we refurbish a new computer for a kid in need and reboot their futures.

  • KFAM - Asian Foster Family Initative

    The Asian Foster Family Initiative (AFFI) is a project launched in 2014 by KFAM, a non-profit organization, in order to increase the number of licensed/certified foster parents of Asian Pacific Islander (API) descent. AFFI's main objectives are to: RECRUIT API resource parents to provide culturally sensitive homes, particularly to API foster children. TRAIN API resource parents in-language and culturally competent curriculum, SUPPORT API resource parents through in-language and culturally competent services and linkages.Description goes here

    We collect unwanted and overstocked sports cards and create packs to distribute to children visiting the Childrens Law Center courthouse serving Los Angeles County. Donations of unwanted cards for our kids packs are welcome. Please contact us at: kid2kidnet@gmail.com

  • The Academy Project @ Loyola High School

    The Academy Project (TAP) was born from the principle that keeping school as a point of stability can significantly help foster youths succeed educationally while providing them with the opportunity to form strong relationships with peers and caring adults.

    TAP operates around the regular school schedule, with an extended year-round schedule providing students the opportunity to participate in a variety of enrichment activities outside of class.

    National Foster Care Month is an initiative of the Children’s Bureau of the Federal Government, and LA County Library is doing its part to raise awareness about foster care in Los Angeles throughout May.

    May is the month to acknowledge foster parents, family members, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the foster care community who help children and youth find permanent homes and families.

    Foster Children’s Resource Center (“FCRC”) has been in operation since 1990. FCRC provides critically needed clothes, underwear, blankets, toiletries, backpacks, school supplies, books, and toys to foster children. Often these children are removed from their homes in the middle of the night with only the clothes on their back.
